Simon is right. For years they tried to get me to change - no way. An Exige S1 has a Rover K series in it anything else makes it a Lotus special. (Andy, your car has a remote stat)
I’m not going to argue with that Mike. The Honda makes my Exige a different car, I think a better one, but with less character. All good things come to an end and I prefer the increased reliability/reduced stress (I do like to give them some stick after all).

KK is probably right but I love it as it is. I’d thought about Emeralds and verniers etc, but I just love it;the hunting, shunting around town . . . then, when the road opens up, the screaming,eager engine (even though I restrict myself to 6,000 revs).
I’m extremely loathe to change anything.

Yes, we must sort out meeting up, Steve. I’m looking into fitting the Emerald at the moment. Once our Canadian GP trip is out of the way I’ll see how finances are holding up and may have it installed. I really enjoy the general recalcitrance and anger but would like to lose the 3k flutter and make it a fraction easier around town. I introduced the car to a friend who was big into the Metro scene as a younger man and who loves the K-Series. He reckoned my engine was smooth as silk compared to some he’s heard so maybe a matter of familiarity…?
