Too true, I only feel like I’m driving properly if I can hear the whine of the SC
That does however generally mean a terrible whine from the passenger seat
Ha ha, I didn’t manage to stay off it…I’ve turned into an overgrown kid! )
Easy way to check is to drive it to a Lotus dealer and ask for an ECU printout. It will show the max rpm recorded. From hear say on the internet the engine generally goes straight away when buzzed with the valves normally responsible. I’ve heard of one that let go a few thousand miles later but I wouldn’t say this is conclusive.
Worst case is a new engine which is ~�3k, not cheap but not the end of the world.
