I have a new S1

Well actually it’s one I’ve had for more than 5 years, but I’ve finally followed the wisdom of the experts and finally had some “sensible” improvements:

  1. Suspension/brake refresh (Nitron NTR)
  2. Jenvey DTH TBs
  3. Piper Vernier Pulleys
  4. Emerald K6 (3 maps)
  5. other bits and pieces
All done by Mr Horgan @ Plans Motorsport and Mr. Walker @ Emerald
Always wanted to keep it original, but having experienced the transformation, can’t understand why I didn’t have it all done before.
    Grin factor definitely increased

And the bhp is?

The VHPD has done nearly 30K - so compression is down a little across all 4 cylinders apparently. Nevertheless, curve shows 175 (I assume at the wheel).

any pics?

as requested - pics

Looks good. I suppose that spec is the ideal, speaking as one whose car is completely standard. Enjoy your “new” car

Thanks Thommo - Btw I should explain that the rather poor quality picture of between the seats shows the external switch to change ECU map.

is that the original airbox you use for the jenvey? anyway, it looks very clean!!!

Yep - I kept the original air box. Plans fabricated an appropriate faceplate etc.

Hi Stu
Where abouts are you in Hampshire?

Same for me.

Mentioned the improvement to Alistair McQueen when I bumped in to him when he was testing the S2 240 years ago at Rockingham. He just said “We had to stop somewhere” along with a canny smile which I took to mean that engineers have projects dragged off them by marketing to get on and sell as well as leave room for later progress…that they can then sell.

Ps. Also in Basingstoke
