Is the adjuster worn?
Are you using the correct belt?
If everything is correct the belt shouldn’t squeel. If you start over tightening stuff, you will simply kill the bearings.
If you have an auto adjuster, make sure that the notch is in the window of the tensioner. If it isn’t a new belt should sort it out. The tensioner spring should be pretty hard to undo to release the belt.
I use the 40 AMP Nippon denso alternator from the Daihatsu cuore or so wothout spring tensioner but clockwise alternator set with “screwed” tensioner. The problem is the waterpump, that is powered by the back of the belt.
In the past i raised tension on the belt - no more squeeling, but the bearings failed (as Sean described above).
I woulfd need any substance (silicone???) to get more grip on the back of the belt to get more grip on the waterpump-pulley.
any idea what is best for this problem?

Do you have enough of the belt in contact with the water pump pulley?
You can get a anti slip spray for belts, but cant remember exactly where its from. Seem to remeber it was an industrial supplier for machine tools with belts. Not ideal though. Avoid silicone and WD40 as these are a lubricant, so the belt still slips, it just doesn’t make a noise.
If it squeals, first change to a new one as the old one might be dry. If it still squeals the best solution is baby powder. Just poor it on. It softens up the belt and the noise is gone.
Good luck!
Found the problem.
The belt ran diagonal and therefore squeeled.
I repositioned the alternator and now it works without squeeling.
Thanks for your help.
