I recently aquired an S1 Exige which will soon be dropped off at Maidstones for the Honda SC treatment.
The car obviously has the VHPD unit with carbon airbox, gearbox and Emerald ECU. Its done 38,000 miles and had a full rebuild at Lakeside engineering at 28,000 miles including some additional work and new Ap racing clutch kit, alternator, etc,etc. Its in really good nick.
Firstly, how should I sell it? The whole lot together as a package or split? I will ebay it but also stick it on Pistonheads, here and Seloc.
Lastly, what could I expect to get for it, again as a whole package or split?
I recently did the same, and sold the lot pretty easily using Seloc and Pistonheads.
Price seems to vary considerably, between 1500 and 2500 for the lot, you’ll get more if you split it up, but you risk being left with parts and it’ll take more effort. I sold all i could as a pacakage with just the exhaust parts going individually.
Most of my stuff went abroad too, but if you look round carriage isn’t too bad.
Sell as engine, gearbox and ECU package. They are in demand at the moment (especially abroad) so you should see �2,500 easy. Sell the exhaust, pipes and other bits separately and you’ll get over �3k back. Very handy considering the cost of the Honda conversion.
All the items I’ve advertised were sold through Pistonheads. Tends to get a wider audience than just the UK forums.
