Bugger ! ???
Fixed penalty, or worse?
The police are getting too picky now, they never seem to warn people anymore, they should not have targets to hit it is so wrong
Just look on it as another tax that we have to periodically pay…
It’s inevitable to get caught occasionally , how many motorists never exceed these stupid limits ??
They were set when morris minor’s took forever to stop…
But who in power is going to shoot the golden goose ?
B+++++ds
I got a nice little “notice of intended proecution” in the post today , It was on the way to norwich from lincoln to get some new rears ( A47 Swaffam .
I have been clean for 6 years and not had a letter like this one , there is no option for fixed fine , is that normal ?
This is just the early stage asking who was driving, the optons will come later when they decide to prosecute once you have told them who was driving
I presume it was withim 14days of the offence and you are the registered keeper?
Gav
Does the 14 day from incident rule still apply?
And is there not one about presecution within 6 months?
At this point before signing I’d write back asking for a photo as it’s possibly not a route you may often use. Tough to make out someones face from the back of the car.

I wouldn’t recommend that, unless you genuinely/honestly don’t know who was driving.
Would be surprised if it’s not a “fixed penalty” offence, & if so, just cough up 60, take the 3 points etc.
Now this is justice!
++++++ YES++++++
14 days to notify registered keeper of intetion to prosicute, then 6 months to act. Eg if its a company/lease car then as long as company informed in 14days then they have upto 6 month after that.
Gav
She so deserved to be banned
Did you upset this cop, then?

It’s you’re right to question within the specfied time Rob.
Lol , it wasn’t a camera or a farmer cop , I think it was a tosser in a van sat in the back with a laser , there was also a cop car 200 yards down the road ready to pick people up , he didn’t stop me and just sat there like a tosser , what ever happened to a good talking to by a cop and be on your way but next time !
What’s the point, if you know who was driving, & you’ve no intention of perjuring yourself?
Really don’t want to discuss this further on a public forum, mate.
I think that if he’d stopped you, you’d be heading for a court appearance, rather than a fixed penalty. You’ve been a bit naughty, going to be mildly punished, but it could have been much worse.
“There but for the grace of God”, & all that…
True, but given the fact that the driver could easily have been identified at the time of the offence, I’d be surprised if it ain’t a FP. Just imho of course
