How much the end pieces should stick out?

Could someone please let me know how much the round end pieces should protrude from the clam.

I actually have this oval end piece on my exhaust, but I don’ t like it at all and would prefer to replace it with
some round end pieces like on the oem version.

Thank you for your help.

Found these pictures, but I am not sure if they are like the oem ones.

What do you think?

Thank you

Trying to find pics of my old car, but from memory mine was like the last blue one you posted

Here is mine: Janspeed Supersport

Looks dirty that thommo , oh no it’s yellow :stuck_out_tongue::smile::smile:

Gleaming yellow, if you please!

In my opinion the end pieces should stick out in between 1 and 2/2.5 cm.

What do the expert think?

Took two more pictures:

Looks ugly, right?

:open_mouth:

It’s not ugly but I’d like it to follow the contours of the space. I also like massive ovals after following RichE around North Yorkshire many times - think that was an Edwards exhaust.
Anyway, I warped it into shape and it came out looking like happy / sad car. Or it’s breathing

I think mine is the older style Eliseparts one, I think it may be the Elise version though but sits perfectly for my taste.

Here is the same exhaust but the Exige version

I know a chap who had a close call with a smouldering clam for using an Elise fitment backbox on an Exige, as it sat just a bit too flush. Keep that in mind!

His BBQ-aesthetic has aged well though, looks like a proper race car

I’ll be keeping an eye on it but does protrude out from the clam a bit, unlike my Elise Janspeed which wasn’t even close to being long enough!

I quite like the burnt look, like an old Le Mans car!
