I,ve run my air-con mod for a week now in fairly hot weather with no overheating and there is noticeably more cold air from the vents.Update in a week or so after a trip to Brands for a trackday.

I haven’t had a chance yet to investigate the workshop manaual over Uldis’ query. Have you looked?
