Hot running problem.

After about an hour running in traffic and getting hot, engine starts to run at 4000 rpm without any acellerator input.
throttle butterflies do not appear jammed

Aftercooling down things seem ok until everything heats up again when it happens again…Clues?
Emerald just slightly re mapped by DW.
Need urgent help.Please.

When the car cools down, idle is fine but only when it get hot, the engine run at 3500-4000 rpm and refuse to come down

i try flicking the spring seems ok, shall i try one of those carb/intake cleaner that i spray into the intake inlet? think that might work?

Your closest independent is probable Essex Autosport (Sinclairs). Alternatively head up the M1to see the Edwards in Quorn.

I went to DVA in the end and got a bit better on idle but still at 2krpm. I had my butterfly inspected balanced at DVA yesterday but Dave cannot balance the first one as it is readying about airflow/barrel at 8kg/hr while other 3 reads out about 6. This is the reason he suggested that this causes the HIGH idle when HOT. He is suspecting a bent butterfly spindle on the first TB but cannot be confirm yet!!!

Anyone can shed some light on this? cheers
