RussIf you are a “petrolhead”, you’ll have no problem using the Exige as an everyday vehicle - provided you don’t need much boot space! I used mine everyday for 6 months from new, & covered about 10K miles in that time (now 25K on the clock). Until about 1 month ago, RussT was using his as daily transport & he’s covered about 30K miles in total. However, the Exige really comes alive (read: excels) when it’s on track - that’s what it was designed & built for! For track use, just make sure that the car has braided brake hoses, decent pads (Mintex 1144 or Pagid RS14) plus uprated brake fluid such as Castrol SRF.You will find that many (but by no means, all)Exiges have seen some track use, but that shouldn’t put you off. Owners tend to be very fastidious in looking after their pride & joy (from a servicing/consumables point of view), & as said above, the cars were made for track use.Happy hunting - let us know when you fall in love!!!

Plenty of doggy Exiges out there, but also some real bargains to be found.Firstly, most have been tracked, so don’t have this as a priority. One advantage is tracked ones I would say have been owned by true enthusiasts, so are usually in good running order.Stone chips are aplenty, so don’t expect to find a show room one either.Dealers cars are not always good cars. I saw some real horrid ones at dealers. Nick whale though always has been recommended by many.Private buys are best value unless you want dealer piece of mindMileage, most are between 5K and 25k, and few have thrown up any serious problems.Look for the 190 upgrade. Well worth the dosh, and you will end up getting it in the long run anyway.Colours, all taste, but IMHO, the red is horrid, too many silver ones about, chrome orange the coolest by a mile but rare, yellow nice, all the blues are also excellent.FSH goes without saying. Does not have to be dealer, but nice to have.Any car with lots of receipts and looks like it has been cherished usually is.Anyone regular on this site selling the car will be an enthusiast. Thus, cars will have been cared for. Watch out for the spotty teenager geek who has had a car for a couple of months and now selling. These things do need some love, and I doubt there is anyone on this forum who would skimp on costs as it is just not worth it in the long runEnjoy

I did all my research on this site and got shed fulls of advice, tips and help. Saved myself a load of time and hassle. Using mine as every day car - only had it 3 weeks but no problems (so far) but I’ve used an Elsie for the last 3 years so had an idea of what to expect. GO GET ONE (sorry for shouting)
