Honda+supercharger=fast!

Well i have had my car back from MSC for a little over a week now and thought i should report on how its going
1st off i would like to thank the guys at MSC who have done a fantastic job on transplanting the honda engine plus supercharger into my car its looks better than new and could easily have been a factory fit.Having used the car all last week to drive into work in London it has run faultlessly very docile in traffic, ive actually had to turn the heater on as the exhaust is no longer 4 inches behind me. Have lost the air con though which apparently MSC are working on a fix if really required, never used it anyway.Because i am sort of running it in and MSC wanted me to get used to the car 1st it is runing lower boost, but still around 260-270bhp, next week depending on weather conditions i will probably take it back and have the remap and smaller pulley on the SC which should bring it up to around 300-310bhp the difference is very noticeable i have been told. Acceleration is amazing, i went for a lightened flywheel also which makes the car rev so fast its tricky to keep track of the rev counter, the rev limiter comes in at around 8600rpm so i have invested in a DRE shift light which i need to get fitted. SC means no lag and to be honest having driven MSC demo and been out in randy’s it feels like a powerful N/A engine i dont think the character of the car has been effected in any way.So far i am utterly gobsmacked at how the car has turned out would like to say thanks to everyone at MSC for the brilliant job they did as you can tell im very impressed. Also somehow my boot space has increased so i can actually get things in there that used to bounce around in the front.Looking forward to croft, still have to sort out accomodation.Pic of engine installation, need to take a better one with someone holding up cover.
Anyone know what the noise limit is for croft, my exhaust is very loud now and have a feeling i will only get on a track with 105db limit.

Top job Christian! I’m looking forward to seeing it.

Breathed on K series, Honda, SC Honda, Audi,…are we gonna have a slow lane at Croft for those of us with ‘as god intended’ original stock 177 cars I’ve come over all inadequate

And apart from that everybody’s got now Nitrons, uprated bushings, toe links, harnesses and 48’s.

I’m going to be running on the std suspension and Kumho’s

LOL, well, standard LSS and 190… And Toyo Poxies

(I’m not getting 48’s until I can get some Nitrons, there’s very little left of my wheel arch liners as it is!)

Which Kumho’s do you tun Uldis?

But Ben, you are Walshy powered!
And Uldis is powered huge khooners!

Just think of the embarrassment for those you’re faster than.

Ok, time to probably say, it’s all about fun not who’s fastest.

Ian

I want to try and get a 1st lotus day in with Mr Walsh, before Croft, anyone else interested?

You’ll be lucky on the dates! I looked yesterday.

Good idea though.

Ian

ps. He’d love your car!

me too and no walshy days for me either… … maybe we should hold hands or something…

Don’t worry Rox, it’ll be raining and that’ll make it a different story!

ECSTA V70, medium compound.
Bought them sometime ago and never used them.
Well, mounted them and took them off when winter started, so haven’t done a trackday on them, and they’re too hard casing for town.

Will see.

I’m going back over to 49’ so we will both be lacking in grip compared to people with 48’s. At least they will be better than Toyo’s.

You mean Yoko '39’s?

Ooops, yes I do… must learn to type too!

Could you post the internet address of MSC, please?

That engine conversion looks fantastic BTW.

Im in the same boat … would love to get in a 1st lotus day before croft … any of the available dates any good for you ?

Hmm… interesting… what’s the total price for this conversion ?

About 13.5k for honda+SC, i specified a few extras though on mine so it came in a bit more, just dont tell my mrs.
