what 0-60 will u imagine from the standard honda in the exige?
ill be having an exhaust done soon and have a couple of reservations…
should i have a cat or a de cat? am i going to see much more horses etc
with no cat will i have issues with db levels…ie track days etc…
manifold…are there gains to be had?
finally stainless vs mild…weight is less with mild…???
Cat: Most go for a decent high flow sports cat. Db levels are quite a bit higher without. I have one from a link up conversion if you want one? PM me if so.
Manifolds have been proven to make a big difference to power. If you are having one made go for an over the top of the subframe version (theres some pics on here somewhere). These generally are a high cost of a conversion. IME around a grand. Stainless, I would suggest (?) but thats an uninformed guess from what everybody else runs lol
Air filter…a big open cone with a long straight stainless tube to the airfilter seems to be the most effective / less restrictive.

not really much faster than standard, cant see the point in putting a honda in an exige without the supercharger, i can understand it in the elise as you gain a lot of power.

I thought the same and after trying the car with a NA honda, realised its a different animal. Albeit the numbers say its similiar the way the car drives is alot different. Also consider the way the gears work the power and you will notice the difference. Arguably yes,the SC does transform the car in an extreme way but dont discount the conversion purely on an arbitrary 0-60 number. Also if you are about to whack 5k on a VHPD rebuild, then consider going honda for just a teeny-weeny bit more
when i had the turbo technics exige everyone said it was no faster than an N/A honda etc etc so i sold it and brought another exige and put the supercharged honda in it and that was no faster than my old turbo technics one so i was a bit gutted. Wouldn’t go for N/A. My Audi one is more like what sort of power an upgrade should have although im looking to get a bit more from it next year.
Would like to get this manifold.
Who can make and fit the,‘over the top subframe manifold’ ?
Is there any structural changes they need to do i.e chopping things?
Can only find pics of race cars on here that have that manifold, which means no cat. can it be fitted with cat or is there to little room.
Hi Chris, my car has in my opion, has a quite sounding exhaust, has it got a Cat on it do you know? funny if its not as its just passed MOT fine. Would like it a bit louder.
I dont mind not having a Cat my main concern is getting on the track when they have a noise restriction!!
Would fitting a full race exhaust with the manifold like the race cars on here, stop me doing trackdays? due to noise.
I’d suggest you get in touch with either Simon Scuffham on SELOC who designed the system, or ring Hofmanns and speak to Randy. Hofmanns are based in Henley and would be able to supply and fit.
It’s a superb bit of kit by the way. I think you’ll find you will need a suitable map to go with it though which they should be able to sort out.
As for the diameter of the box, I’m not sure as I don’t have my car at the moment. I’d guess it’s around 9" by 20". It also benefits from being re-packable. I’ll post a picture in a minute so you can see. [image]imagecave.com - contact with domain owner | Epik.com
Don’t know, but I don’t think there would be a problem. There were plenty of much louder cars there when I last went which were fine. I suppose it also depends on induction.
as you have an edwards kit on your car mate id just check that it will still fit cos i seem to remember when i spoke to randy before he said it wouldn’t fit as the edwards kit sits the engine lower.
