Honda owners Midlands/NW

Called in at TDI North this morning - first time since 2008.

It’s been “all change” with expansion of personnel/facilities/workshop (but still at same address in Warrington). Was very impressed with the set-up, & they do of course have a close working relationship with TDI South.

I’m planning on having a remap next Spring, as I reckon my silencer will be due for replacement then, if it’s going to be within accepted trackday db limits.

The guy in charge is now Paul West http://www.tdi-north.com/

Mnnnnn - new map needed eh next spring.
anything else being cosnidered during its annual winter trip to chez martin  ?

Nothing at all Con, except basic stuff such as brake disks/pads & maybe a silencer. No future plans whatsover for engine mods - it’s quick enough for me as it is, & I need to learn how to drive it properly. TBH I just want to continue enjoying every trackday I manage to book on, & that revolves around who is else there for the social banter, & just getting out driving for fun in a non competitive way.

Although present map has been great (apart from difficulty of starting when very hot - maybe fuel vapourisation in throttle body???), but after talking with Paul West this morning, I think he could refine the map a tad. As a returning customer, we’re talking 195 plus vat.

You seemed to drive it plenty well enough at Oulton matey  An impressive piece of kit, well driven IMHO.

Goes even better with 100 octane gravy, Tim

100 octane That will be the gravy without lumps then?

Aye, smooth as a buttered fart.

Thanks for that thought Rob. Saved me the cost of taking Christine out for meal. Not hungry anymore

Steve

Just make sure she sends you packing with enough sarnies for us all tomorrow…bless her

Mine does the same when hot - but overall I think we’ve got a reasonably good map on there.
195 for a remap, refine doesn’t sound bad to me - after all you can pay 30-50 for just a power run at some club meets etc.

My thoughts too, Con. Maybe we should consider booking a joint remap session next Spring?

Yes mate - why not  that sounds like a good idea.

We could even invite Dave P down - that way we would find out he’s already got a charger fitted under that solid engine lid

Mind you if Andy D comes up with the JDM cams it would give Tdi something to work with
