Honda or Audi? Nah Boeing!

Cross post from pistonheads…watch the video just to see him fire it up on his drive in a residential area :sunglasses:

Grief. I have enough trouble with the neighbours when i fire up the Exige. Great find.

I like him

Love the video also THIS is a good read, didn’t realise that someone had done something decent with kers…

Love the jet 928 - only in America!!

re the 911 hybrid - I wonder how they overcome the gyroscopic effect of a 150kg flywheel rotating at 40k affecting the handling of the car?

I suspect the 150kg is the whole system not just the fly wheel, that said I would be nervous of anything that close to me doing 40,000rpm. Especially if it had an accident!.

Even if the flywheel is only 75kg (it must have to be a reasonable weight to store the energy) it must still have gyroscopic effect on the hamdling of the car - I heard thia is why BMW abandoned their version of KERS (Mclaren and Ferrari used capacitors/batteries to store the energy in their systems instead of a flywheel)

It would certainly scare the life out of me having it spinning behind me, never mind upsetting the handling of the car…

The williams KERS / hybrid power is flywheel based. Its on a production porsche.

I think everyone gets that Chris.
