Honda Elise S2 Coolant and Motorsport ARB

I used to have an exige so dont shout at me, I just need some help with my Elise S2 …

Cross posted from seloc.

Hi guys, I have just had to do some bits on my car which included draining the radiator. I have a Supercharged Honda Elise S2 and was wondering if there are any special requirements for the coolant. Any tips and hints ?

Secondly, I am thinking of replacing my standard ARB with the motorsport one (or any other if recommended) whilst I have the clam off. Is it worth the outlay (with Nitrons) and if so which setting would you recommend for track use ? I dont do many road miles so trying to get the best track setup I can.

Thanks for any help,
Dave.

Is the above a ‘thick’ question? Sorry if it is but I would really appreciate any help.

Thanks.

There is a lot of possible answers to the roll bar question, I have an eliseparts adjustable one on my S2 Exige with Nitrons and the car feels so much better for it. There is now no real roll at all but the car is still very composed over bad surfaces, I use the middle setting for road one harder for dry tracks and one softer for wet, it seems to suit me I’m sure others won’t agree.
Can’t really help with the rad question tho…

Thanks. How long does it take to adjust it. I was looking at the EliseParts one, did you fit it yourself ? I have read a thread on SELOC about how many options there are. Are you using the Nylatron bushes and sleeves ?

Took about an hour to fit, the instructions didn’t make much sense at first as they are for an S1, you need to fettle (read bend) a bit of the alloy ends on the chassis when you fit it and the roll bar mountings come with the kit. You have to have both front wheels of the ground to fit it as you have to take out one of the lower wishbone bolts on each side.
Takes about 10 minutes to adjust when at the track, some suggest diconnecting one side when it is wet but I’ve not tried it.

Just to update my own questions. I have been informed that any good coolant is ok for the honda engine and I have gone for the eliseparts ARB. So I will report back what the difference is once its fitted to the car :O)
