Hockenheim F1 Track. 2-day driving course

I will be going to the 2-day course organised by the Swiss Auto Racing club (SAR) at Whit. Instruction takes place for one and a half days (skidpan, braking, avoidance, cornering, etc.) and the final afternoon is for sessions on the F1 track.

For the past couple of years I have got the organisers to arrange for one group to have English-language instruction (normally only German or French).

To save me loads of effort and unnecessary questions, please follow the following links:

I’ve never seen a collision and I’ve been going to Hockenheim to this course since I got my Speedster in early 2001. But I’ve never seen such a d*ck as that Porsche driver either!

Never had anyone in my group total their car. In the 5 years, in other groups, there have been a couple accidents during the instruction when people “fooled about” during the instruction and lost it trying to do “clever” handbrake turns, etc. And one 19-year old totalled his BMW M Coup in the free training sessions when he oversteered at the end of the main straight then, contrary to all instructions to “just stand on the anchors”, he managed to screw it backwards into the inside of the corner on the concrete wall just past the pit exitand all the tyres. Saw him in the paddock the next year with an identical one insurance had paid up no problem.

Yep. 4th and 5th of June (Whit Sunday and Monday). Worth going to watch the Tuner Grand Prix and Drift Challenge on the Saturday, 3rd too. Entry only costs about 6.00 and gives you access to all the pit lane and paddock: loads of tuners showing their goods tuned Porsches such as Techart, Sportec, etc., Ferraris, Mercs, etc., etc. Salivate over Carrea GTs, Lambos, etc!

The SAR site is down at the mo but cost is SFr.910.00, excluding the cost of the buffet lunch available in the Motordrom Hotel for cash payment.
