Just wondering who one here (if any) has upgraded the candles in their exige. I’m going to be doing some night time driving trips for a while down roads i’m unsure of so could really do with upgrading them.
Has anyone done this ? If so what kits have you used ??
I can really recommend the blue vision bulbs from Phillips. Sounds a bit fast and furious maybe but they really do give a lot more light than the standard bulbs. And the more white light is a pleasure to drive.
When I had fitted one side I turned the lights on and compared. Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture but it was obvious that they were more than twice as bright.
My car had a full HID (main and driving lights) kit on when i bought it.
They’re a bit fiddly, and needed rewiring to tidy it up. They’re brighter, but i’m not sure if it’s worth the money and hassle (I’ve got a stuck bulb at the moment that’s not moving back to the full beam position).
I’m in Leeds too, if you want to wait till dark and stop by for a look you’re more than welcome.
Yer i brought a kit from HIDS4U site very good easy install got the super bright 55watt ones used the white light instead of blue as they reckon its even brighter. seem very bright alot better than before. tho i dont have standard S1 light housing i use Eliseparts twin light conversion thing.
I have fitted both the H4 main/dip and the H1 driving lights form HIDS4U. I have been very pleased with the lights. Don’t expect the performance form a modern car with HIDs as the beam pattern is not as good. That said the light is much whiter and brighter. The Exige still does not really light the road as well as you would want, especially on dip, however, I am going to try some new lenses. I went for the 6000K lights and the fitting was very easy. They are voltage sensitive but if turned on with the engine running they always fire up. For 225 I would recommend them if you are doing a lot of night work.
