Hi

Hi fellas. I just found the boards here and thought I would say hello.I’m from the states and with the news of the Elise coming here, I have almost pee’d my pants multiple times just thinking about it. I have wanted to own an Elise since I first saw one YEARS ago. I can still hardly believe that they are actually coming.I currently own an RSX-S (Picture 1, Picture 2). I’ll be doing the hybrid swap when the Elises arive. I am worried though that we wont be recieving an Exige. That is the model I TRUELY want. So with that in mind, I had a few questions that maybe some of you could shed some light on:1) How similar is the Exige frame compared to the Elise? How much work goes into converting a UK Elise to accomodate Exige parts? I’m really worried that the conversion will be impossible with a USDM Elise assuming they have to beef up the front and rear impact points to meet US DOT requirements.2) What is the Bolt Pattern, Size, and offset of Elise and Exige wheels? Many thanks for the site. I’ll be slowly reading all the posts to fill the next year untill the Elise hits our shores.[This message has been edited by Disco (edited 30 April 2003).]

Hmm, I think it’s going to be tricky to answer until a US Elise comes out and the differences become clear. If you get the workshop manual for that and the Exige you should be able to get an idea. You’re not wrong on wanting an Exige though! The Elise is a damn fine motor - Exige manages to take it to another level [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image] - well worth the wait tho’

The main difference between them would be what they were built for, and how they look. The engine could be any of three, 1.8 k16, 1.8vvc, or sport 160. in the elise. car being 755kg.the exige is a tuned up honda k series. The elise is an amazingly quick rollerskate, great handling, moderate power and great fun, built for fast road use, abuse and occassional track day. suspension little softer than exige. The exige is a monster road going version of a race car, full motorsport bodykit with splitters, big wing, reshaped rear boot, to allow more air to circulate and cool, black alloy’s and with the 190 upgrade a tidy 185 - 190 bhp…Its got larger rims, stiffer springs, with matching dampers. Also you cannot remove the roof like an elise because of an air inlet.there are other differences to
