Wanted to introduce myself really, I’ve taken the plunge and have placed the order for my first Lotus.
I’ve always silently admired everything Lotus for as long as I could remember, but fell in love with an S1 Elise about 4-5 years ago. I was working for a well known bird charity at the time when a colleague and good friend turned up in what turned out to be the beginnings of an obsession. It was a wonderful (if not slightly unreliable) car, an absolute pleasure to drive. I’ve so many happy memories associated with it from the track, the road and more often than not, the garage. Could go on reminiscing for hours.
But finally, in a new job, after lots of umm-ing and arr-ing about the practicality and sensibility of the car I, last week, decided sod-it, this isn’t a decision to make with your head, and have had ordered on my behalf what will quite possibly be the only Exige S (+ Performance Pack) company car in the land.
So hello everyone!
P.S. I’ve been requested to inform you the company I work for is not currently hiring.
Welcome Tim- congrats on a good choice!! It’s a good site this- lots of information and banter. Just remember to ignore the S2 ‘hairdresser’ jibes and you’ll be fine! I’ve got an S2 NA so I’m speaking from experience. Pics will be expected when you take delivery. What colour/spec etc have you gone for?
It’s going to be in Laser Blue, Performance Pack, Touring Pack , Sports Pack and Air Con.
I know I’ve left myself open for a barrage of stick for air-con and the Touring - my rationale is, I’m going to be using fairly regularly, not just as a summer-weekend or track-day vehicle. I’ve also done a couple pilgrimages to the 'ring via the South of France (long story) in various cars and think that I’d suffer somewhat from a lack of cooling.
Photos will most certainly follow, although delivery isn’t due until April - seems so far away.
Good choice in car . The S2 fully Luxo’d up is a fantastic, useable fun-car. Personally I’m more towards the hardcore endof the spectrum, but I know that’s not for everyone.
Welcome in and enjoy your stay. I found my Exige through this site, and they’re a helpful lot. Just watch out for that Mr Pesky bloke
So much to learn; would I be correct in assuming that this comment would come tagged on the back of one advising me to pack a bucket and spade so I can at least make sand castles while retrieving my front plate?
