Hi
Just signed up on here as im considering buying a S1 exige next year .
Just now I run a modified 996 turbo as a weekend / fun car but after selling my clio track/race car late last year i’m missing a track toy.
Plan is to sell the turbo ,bank some cash and get a Lotus for road/track , so would more than likely go for a audi or honda converted car than something fully original.
My 996
600 bhp , 380mm 6 pots front and rear , Moton coilovers ,rear cage, GT2 bumpers…
Thanks for the welcome
The clio was a 3 year gradual build from a almost standard road car to full race spec, it use to hold its own on track against a lot bigger cars.
I recognize a few names on here from my old cosworth owning days.
Yeah a well sorted Clio in the right hands can really hold its own on circuit, great little cars. One of the ex-Exige/Cossies lads (Porkie) has one of the full-fat contemporary Cup cars with the SADEV and that’s like a mini touring car
I know Lee (Porkie) and James that originally bought Sean’s Exige , they both moved on from similar cars to my clio to the 197/200 cup cars which look to go very well.
Nice looking 996TT. I used to have one of those, sold it to Porkie actually. Get yourself an Exige, then get a Caterham, it seems it’s where we all end up.
I remember when the S1 exiges first came out there was someone local that had one and mind thinking it looked more like a race car than a road car , since then one has been on my need to own list .
In the same way when i first seen a escort cosworth on the road they really stood out , then after getting the doors blown off my subaru by Kev Sharps old beast I had to have one.
3rd taken as px for the above car , 280bhp ,slow but looked stunning , really should of kept this one locked away as it would be worth double now what i sold it for 4 years ago.
The last one was the slowest, highest miles and cheapest after I had taken all the carbon bits off. But it was only due me around 9k at the end and the same car would be worth 20+ now.
Lovely set of cars. Dabbled with a 3 Door many years ago, same thoughts on current values but you can’t foresee where it will go and we all have had a reason for selling at the time.
