Help with Brakes

Just back from the service and I asked them to check the brakes as they are a bit grabby at low speed when braking gentle ( ie when the missus is on board) may need new discs or a skim, ( not keen)
Whats the deal with the discs and pads as its the AP set, seen loads of talk about bells etc ;- what do i need and where is a goo place to get them??

Whizz whizz;- me stirring up a hornets nest

Lots of discs options available here

Give me a call if you would like to chat about the options available

Too many choices and opinions, the only thing I will say though is, if you use it on track don’t fit drilled discs they seem to crack badly :frowning:

Have you done lots of track driving on your current setup ?

Thanks, tend not to do many track days, just fast road I suppose, I guess the first thing I need to find out is what size rotors I have;- Ideas its a 2009 with the PP ???

If you’ve not done lots of track days, I’d find it hard to believe you have worn out the discs.

Probably just some pad deposits on the disc faces that’s causing the slight grabbing.

You will have 308mm discs but they could be solid or have ally bells, just have a look ally bells are obvious by all the bolts on the discs

with 2009 PP you should have 308 4 pot AP racing on the front, standard on the rear and fitted with RS 14 pads. Vent holes in discs get crudded up and I always clear when washing, wheels off good old soaking with water and poke a small screwwdriver through the blocked holes in the discs, another good soaking, clean rest of car not forgetting to put the wheels back on, take for a spirited drive before parking up to dry off brakes or the thing will not move in the morning. as they say on SELOC jobs a carrot
