Trying to make sense of my New exige. I was under the impression they didnt have traction control unless spec’d as an option. It was listed as just having a touring pack from the previous seller…a fairly old gentlemen who’d only covere’d 1500 miles in 2 years of ownership. Its a 2006 car with 9000 miles on.
Anyway, cut a long story short, me and a few friends do alot with BDC drifting. The other night there was no one about so i thought id see if the exige would go sideways, i know its got an open diff but still. So on a wet surface, i tried to kick it sideways and it did and then instantly snapped back in line. Tried it a few times with the same thing happening. Its not like i want to take the car drifting or anything. Im just curious now. Do they have TC and its switchable on the performance pack? Or is TC itself an option. I dont think the car has a sport pack or performance pack, i havent checked. It does have leather ProBax seats, but figured a previous owner had fitted them. Is there anything i can check? Also, if it does have traction control. is there a way to make it switchable. I think id be very greatful for it in the winter, But not all the time.
Take out the ABS fuse , that’ll do the trick.
There’s another benefit to doing this too but I’ll keep quiet about that and let you discover that one for yourself !
Have fun !
There is a little button next to the gearstick, but the gentlemen i bought it from said it was something to do with the alarm lol. He was nearly 60 though so i gues its ok.
I’ll have a play later and see what i come up with.

Its excellent if it is sports pack. As it was advertised as only a touring and i bought it for a steal. Suppose only real way to tell would be to see if it has two oil coolers. Where are they located?
I Appreciate all the help here, really handy when just getting to grips with a new car.
lol. Sorry. Wasnt ment like that. This guy actually was a tit. To the point where i asked how he wanted payment, he said a bankers draft. I made the 160 mile trip upto him and when i got there he said he wasnt exactly sure what a bankers draft was and to him it was just a peice of paper. Meaning i had to go home without a car and arrange for a different payment method.
All S’s have twin oil coolers but it certainly looks like you might have done well, now you need to have a check to see if it has olhins shocks, it looks like you might even be lucky enough to have got the supersports pack if it has
Just checked…Shocks are bilstien. Well happy though. What oil are people using? Was thinking of using millers 10-60 Fully Synth and Redline MT90 in the gearbox.
Car could do with a service. I was hoping to get some sort of extended warranty but they just told me they dont do it.
And last question lol…Theres a very slight side to side knock in the steering, seems some comments pointing towards steering rack. Im hoping for track rod ends.
