The engine cover release cable has snapped. Fortunately the engine cover had opened just before the cable snapped! I have the Lotus service notes which helpfully says that “In the event of cable breakage access to the latch is available after removing the drivers side rear wheelarch liner”. Liars! Having struggled to remove the wheel arch liner by drilling off some seized bolt heads, I was dismayed to find that you cannot access this at all. Help and advice from anyone who has had to change the inner and outer cable would be greatly appreciated ! Is the mechanism in the door simply a push fit, can I force it out simply by pushing the outer cable from the wheelarch side? Thanks in advance for any replies
