Any pictures?

it’s a cross post from NORLOG, I’ve requested some on there so will see if he sticks any up

i did mean to mention it was a cross post and not mine but that’ll teach me for posting when drunk

Marc, it’s “Stormin Norman” (Steve Davies) of Winsford who is flogging the car, if that helps.

Afternoon chaps,

Well after a bit of a waiting game with the owner of the blue Honda in the original post, he has come back to me and said he is prepared to negotiate a lower offer…

I offered £25,500 last time around, and for my mechanic to give it the once over…

Just for peace of mind, do you think this is reasonable for a converted elise to an exige Honda supercharged…

Many thanks…

And a general question regarding a sale. He would be happy to take it to my mechanic for the once over, for which I would pay… Is it common practice to give a deposit before this is done, or would you say no, let’s see what the report is first. I don’t really want to be giving deposits before I know it’s game on, if that makes sense…

So, just for clarity.

You are going to buy a car that is no longer an elise and is now a car it never was and has the wrong engine? Bargain

would seem so eh!

I’d not bother with a deposit, the money your paying the mech for the check over is skin in the game enough to make it worth his travels

Apologies if my previous post seemed harsh. Basically it is a modified Elise, and he expects an Exige price for it. IMHO it is worth £10k less than your previous offer

Thanks guys. Ha ha, no problem Tim.

Probably why it hasn’t sold, and he has come back to me. I think I am being somewhat guided by its performance and not what it actually is… It was stunning , but as you say it’s an elise dressed up as an exige. This is what’s just stopping g me having it for the money he is wanting…

It’s going back on Pistonheads later, I will see what he puts it up at.

Thanks for the replies…

This is the car just relisted…

Coo …you could have my 260 cup sprint ,a real Exige full on track car. For not a lot more …well quite a bit more really. Just back from a blatt and once again that supercharger whine is just addictive So perhaps quite ,quite a lot more!
Cant understand why you would want a fake Exige ?

Ah Tim stop trolling, it’s not like it’s rocking round with exige bodywork with rover lump in the back.

Sure his 100 extra brake, and 100 less KG, will console him for now.

Well until a CV joint fails anyway.

The exhaust’s are wonky pissed… knock him down £250 to get them straightened.

Me trolling? Now there’s a first :eh: The market for that type of car is very limited, just look how long it is taking to shift. There’s nowt wrong with the concept as such, particularly when an owner of an Elise decides he want to do such a conversion and the car is a keeper. As for pricing it is what it is - an Elise conversion, not an Exige.

I’m just saying

Yea no doubt the market is limited, it’s a niche, of a niche, of a niche. Add such it’ll take a while to move. No plans to move mine on though, to much of my own time in it now.

I think a 15k valuation is a function of badge snobbery though, especially when a n/a Honda s2 elise is worth 16k all day long. When mine was smashed it got an independent insurance valuation of 25k and the rebuild was 3/5 of that.

Quo’s car is an elise, wonder if he’ll take £17k for it?

What about the Motorsport S1 elise? That’s an elise with an exige body isn’t it?
So using man maths the Elises converted to Exiges are worth more …???

No, the Exige is a MS Elise with a detuned engine and a few road comforts

Always difficult to value a modified car, and most certainly if you expect to see the cost of a conversion returned in a sale. I’m not adverse to some modding either

Yeah it’s hard to place a value on these cars, and really the only true answer is “what someone is willing to pay”.

Wonder what a NA exige with a SC honda lump in it would be worth.
