Help. Can I remove this?

Found one of the interior rattles, looks to be the tracker.

Can I simply disconnect the plug and remove?

There is a way of finding out if you can disconnect and everything works…

I strongly suspect if you do remove the tracker nothing untoward will happen.

I suppose if I unplug it and the immobiliser still works, then I should be good to go.

Yup, removing it should have no downside. Make sure you insulate or trace back any live connections though.
My record was 3 in one Exige that the customer had no idea about. One in the dash near the radio, one in the passenger sill, trying to escape and one behind the bulkhead trim. All still happily connected and broadcasting, but no-one was listening!

Just looked through all my paperwork. The first owner paid for a tracker back in 2007.

I have the feed cable running back to the bulkhead, I’ll have a shifty tomorrow to see where it goes.

This mornings task, since 9am, is striping the inside to follow the cables…

The feeds to the Tracker are fed from the cigarette lighter, so easy to isolate.
The aerial cable goes behind the bulkhead, so seats out and panel off.
Then, when the cables are all cut and disconnected, feed back along the gear linkage, drill a rivnut out round the main cable feed clips and finally it’s free.

Car starts fine.

Now to put away in the Lotus parts box.
