Headlamp condensation.

I had a quick search and was a bit surprised to find nothing on the subject.

I’m hoping someone has an easy fix for the extremely annoying condensation that I seem to have almost permanently under both lenses now.

I have a few ideas but would like to know what you chaps have done about it.

As I feared, I’ll try a few things when I get time and let you know.

be good to know, annoys me too!

Drilling a small hole in the back of the housing doesn’t work - I tried that!!

Had mine replaced and still the same.

Well, I’m thinking about trying those desiccant bags as a trial. If it works I believe its possible to buy re-usable canisters that you could screw into the back of the lamp housing.

Gotta be worth a try.

Move to a HOT DRY country!

OZ!!!

Would love to, went over for 5 weeks with the aim of checking out a few places to possibly live. My industry took a nose dive there pretty much at the same time :frowning:

Stunning place all the same, will certainly return.

Mine have never been too bad, is it worse on the later cars?

Left lamp pretty much looks like this. Varies a bit depending on the weather but its always there.

The headlamps are not fully sealed units - The chances are that overtime you’ve got a bit too much condensation/water in there that wont’t clear once the headlamps are on.

Never had the problem on my Exige, but use to get this on the vx220 - the solution was to seperate the lense with a stanley knife and hairdryer, then reseal with tigerseal. Sometimes help drilling a drain hole in the bottom of the light.

For starters I would take the headlamp unit out to dry it properly indoors and check that the seal between the black plastic and clear lense is not leaking.

All S2’s come supplied with a hairdryer right? Can’t that be put to use to dry it out

My S1 actually has some kitty litter inside the headlight,…that’s how hard S1’s are
