Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket header tank as seen them for the s1 but cant find any for the s2
Not that I’m aware of, I asked Pro alloy about it and they would need to have a look at a OEM one as it’s multi chambered design.
Neil.
so forced to pay 140 from lotus that after a while goes brittle lol, thanks for the reply
I believe Proalloy are working on a Toyota tank, but going to be ready for a while.
Can’t you get a header from a scrap yard there must be a few toyota’s with the same one
I went through this a few months back. I couldn’t find a replacement anywhere, as obviously an alloy tank would be a much better solution, the only problem is you can’t see the fluid level.
I even asked the Celica boys with their highly modified cars and no-one knew of any replacements.
The Toyota part is a rip off, but I just went for it as there were no other options.

Read my first post, they aren’t working on one as they need to have a look at one first
Neil.
When I spoke to them a couple of weeks ago Wayne said he had an Exige that he was going to borrow to start making one, I would class that as early stages of development. I did read your post but I didn’t know how fresh your info was.
I spoke to him on the 13th December, so maybe if we bug him enough something will appear sooner!
Neil.
Sounds like plan Neil, will do

Think I would have more luck making one out of paper and glue. May even last longer then the Lotus part. why can they make it the same way as a kettle is made i.e the case would be alloy but there is a plastic strip with a small float to see the level of coolant or does that sound stupied lol
Can’t see what so special about it tbh…its a header tank with a pressure cap, release valve and a few hose attachments. You might be better looking at thr uuniversal alloy header tanks they fit to kitcar cars - certainly will be a cheaper alternative!
Buy an original Toyota one if it fits??
Is it the original toyota one? If it is i will try to get a dead one of the Celica forum to seand to Wayne, we need an old one for him to cut up
Well once I have got a new one I am more than happy to send it for someone to cut up.
cool that may well help
I have an old one if its of any use to anyone?
Is it still in working order?
Keep up at the back!
Nope I refuse to keep up, I much prefer the slightly lost approach to life
You’ll never keep up with a weak gearbox & no drive training
