HD Cam?

Looks an interesting piece of kit. Would be good to know any more detail of your friends experience with it

Gone for the VIO POV HD , the camera will go in the blade and the main unit will go in a side pod with an external mic , turns out Williams have used these on there cars . Have a look at the 1080p clips on the VIO website , they look spot on HD .

Looks good.

Only thing I could not see was a glass cover for the lenses - will your blade run a separate cover. Just concerned the glass is quite big and will be liable to impact from track debris.

I cracked two glass covers on my old bullet cams.

The camera will have a cut out to see through , I will post a pic of it when Lanzante have the blade done .

The camera has arrived from dogcam , it has a clear plastic lense cover  , it all looks top quality .

Ok hes just got back from the demo at Aarhus Denmark , the blade wasnt ready so the rubber sucker mount was used just to try the camera , the results when the car is not running are spot on but as soon as the cars is started the vibration is to much for the mounts, so some testing to do to get it right , here is a clip of Dad - bare in mind Dads 67 and not a racing driver + its on a road circuit hes not driven before and it was that bumpy some of corners he was on three wheels but i think he did fantastic.

Truly stunning, fabulous stuff, Paul :sunglasses:

Just realised that your dad owns/was driving Damon Hill’s 1996 F1 Championship winning Williams in that clip!

Top Trump

love that car, your Dad is a lucky man

 bless him. So proud it makes my hairs stand up watching that clip .
Hope to have the proper blade sorted for Nurburgring , chuffed with the service from Dogcam , they are very helpful .

He did say Rob lol…Paul I hate to be the rude one, I really do and this is not a question I’d usually ask but having seen that which in my book is MAGNIFICANT and mean that in the way of “the ultimate track day car” I need to know (and I bet a few others need to know) how and how much (feel free to ball park) lol?

Awesome :sunglasses: I must get around to giving Dogcam some business myself.

So is your Dad gonna bring the car to our next Exiges day. I’m sure we could persuade Jonny to let him out to play at lunchtime or something. That would be proper neat :sunglasses:

To be honest I don’t know the cost , I guess it would be a bit more than my Exige but then again starting and running it a few times would .

Yeah I kinda thought that every time it comes out to play its $$$. I recall talking to Randy about his Group-C car and I’m sure an F1 car takes it to another level.

Yeah the later the car the more difficult they are to run because of electronics / software / engine tolerance , the FW18 is about on the limit for dads budget to run , a year or two later and it wouldn’t .
He keeps the revs down to save the engine but to be fair the car has been amazing for reliability .
It’s an amazing process to watch them run it up to a start with laptops/ heaters / oil pumps ect.

WOW, cool man!!!

Being strapped into an amazing machine like that whilst it swarms with mechanics with laptops etc, seeing the top dude give it the ‘ok turn it over’ rotating finger gesture, hearing and feeling ‘that’ engine fire up behind you knowing what you’re right foot is about to unleash :sunglasses: Now whatever it costs, when you’re experiencing that in ‘your’ car it has to be worth it.

Fair play to your Dad Moomin. In the words of Ferris :

“It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.”

Love Ferris!!

I love that film but I learnt my lesson at 15 years old to leave his keys alone .

Brands Hatch - MSV

That’s awesome Moomin.
I’ve got a photo of me as a nipper sat on the from wheel of an FW18 at Williams GP Engineering, I was lucky enough to spend 4 days there on work experience when I was 16
