Happy birthday Muu

As per thread title

cheers boys, a round number too!

Share the day with the Mrs (although different year) so we headed out with mates locally last night.

Now what to get for myself… would love a new lens for the camera.

Happy Birthday Tim, did you decide what you wanted to do  ?

Cheers dude…

yeah we booked a local bar for a private function, then paid the bar up and put some food on. Loads of mates came along and was a great night.

30 - no longer young

Happy Birthday Tim. Your ultimate birthday present must be being ‘delivered’ soon huh!!!???

You finished your motor and had it mapped yet???

too much snow to work on the car at the mo - also doesn’t seem to be high on the list of things Mrs B wants me to sort first (god knows why)

Canon have 160 cashback on the 70-200 at the mo, so might treat myself to one of them.

Yes I figured that may be the case,…the tide is turning for you fella, make sure its ready for Anglesey

If you mean 70-200 f4L IS then I have that lens and it is awesome.

I’m selling some gear (17-40 F4L and 1.4x converter) and intend to try and justify a 50mm f1.2 :sunglasses:

I was going to push the boat to the f/2.8 IS II - borrowed one and pretty smitten.

I’ve used a 50L but for me the sigma f/1.4 50 did the trick, however it’s no 50L.

T

My Father has the f2.8 and its great but fookin heavy to lug around. The f4 is almost as sharp and obviously missing a stop but its a big saving in $$/kg.

If you wanna borrow the f4L IS to have a proper go, swing over and pick it up.

I could go either way - I’d mind the weight of the 2.8 and I’ve borrowed both but the appeal of the 2.8 is the ability to use the 2x extender and it still AF on my 5D

Shot in the river by you on a F4L IS:

In the sky - again F4L

On the 2.8 - struggling for speed:

Bloody Anoraks

Great pictures though

Photographic Anorak? Guilty as charged…

Tim, you have to ask yourself how often you’re gonna shoot wide open and how often you’re gonna use the converter. I ended up hating using my 1.4x with the 300mm because of the impact on overall image quality,…I only used it when I absolutely had to.

You can still get nice DoF with the f4 :sunglasses:

?? 2 x fat blokes getting wet & a chav who’s lost control of a stolen motorbike

At least thats how it looks to me

The cars dirty, you’ve chopped off the wing, and them two blokes are out of focus. Best stick to the day job there fella

That’s kinda the conclusion I arrived at

It was more as an example of the capabilities of the lens rather than my skills (or lack thereof)

Happy Birthday matey.

Yeah the lure of the F4 is strong, but I think it’s main pull is price rather than the weight.
