Handbrake Light

Got in the car yesterday after not driving it for a couple of days, started it up and noticed that the handbrake light stays on (only dimly) when the handbrake has been released. Its quite dim, but still noticeable…any ideas? TIA

Jonny

Are you sure it’s the handbrake light, rather than “low level” of fluid in cylinder?

Sorry if that’s a daft question, but I got caught out by that myself a few years back

…you can get pills for that these days Rob

As rob says the light doubles up to indicate low brake fluid.
Even when topped up to the mark it can still flash on fast right handers or even roundabouts. You usually need to overfill a bit to sort this out. Just make sure there is a little room there for expansion.

So you just happened to be browsing “Steroid Station” when you stumbled across the picture. Needing to bulk up Ben?

roundabouts Will   :astonished: you must take them at some speed to get the light on !

Strangely, I got in the car today and its fine - who knows. Maybe the magical pixies came and topped up my brake fluid in the night?!

Welcome to Lotus ownership  its how it goes.
