The cold weather is here and I have wiped the dust of the ol PS2.
My question, who has worked out the optimal geometry setup on the Motorsport Elise on GT3 A-Spec?
If so, can you post your settings in the forum for all to clone!!
I am struggling to beat that damn 787B on the Cote d Azur (mainly due to the power issue ), however I want to ensure I eaked every last performance factor from my car, as I am now in a dead-lock to beat that damn thing!!!
I’ll try and dig my settings out (currently running a Racing Zonda with 1200bhp, makes life easier in my effort to complete the whole game before GT4) but I seem to recall the fastest settings (which does depend on the circuit a bit) is very nervous, takes a lot of concentration to prevent spins.
You using a steering wheel or controller? That changes things too (you get more help with a controller), all my settings are for a wheel.

ps. This may all sound sad, but with a force-feedback steering wheel and projector it’s realistic cheap racing!
A few more questions: Which race type (eg. GT All Stars) and level (eg. Pro) are you racing the 787B on? What lap times are you getting? How often are you changing tyres?
I’m gonna have to get back to you on these stats. I have won 99% of the race series and so am not in the Gran Turismo part of the game, but at the mo have just jumped into “Arcade” mode, selected "hard, “Cote d’Azur” and then selected my bespoke M Elise from the memory card option. That’s 5 laps with typically the 787B, Vertigo race car, GT40, Race Camero, Race Viper etc etc…
Had a go last night…I got a 1:33.5 in the M Elise around Cote d’ Azur. The car is still understeery and I realised last night it is also a fine balance in turning down the traction and stability control settings.
That’s a good time. I got 1:35 with the steering wheel (which is more fun but harder as you get less ‘help’), I found key bends for a good time are turn 1 and the Casino complex.
I was running:
Spring 8.6f/11.1r
Height 76f/76r [on the deck]
Damper Bound 6f/6r
Damper Re-bound 7f/7r
Camber 3.0f/2.0/r
Toe 0f/0r
Stabliser 3f/3r
LSD Initial 0/10
LSD Acc 0/46
LSD Dec 0/22
Ratios 3.367-1.010 [Level 22]
Active Stab. Mgr. 9
TCS 5
I’ve probably got the the traction control/LSD too strong for the fastest times, but racing it over 20 laps needs some consistency especially when the tyres go off like they do on GT3.
Beat the 787B yet? I haven’t done enough of the races in Acade mode to try, so was just testing on Am level as that doesn’t degrade tyres either.
Yip, your driver aids are too strong…will anaethetise the steering. I have found lowering the aids substantially helps in getting the bback out on the hairpins, and also helps in keeping the revs up when you nudge other cars (or walls ), whereas if you nudge anything with normal aids settings your revs just die. LSD I must look at…I think mine is default.
One question…Toe-in / Toe-out…which is positive / negative in the game. The game doesn’t say!
No I haven’t beaten the 787B yet, but I beat the Toyota GT One last night which was tough. The software alternates the competition, so the 787B wasn’t included. I believe it is faster than the Toyota so I am still not convinced I am going to take it!!
Go o…give it go tonight and and I will do the same.
I know what you mean on the Toe, I keep meaning to work it out (or search the web). I did play with the Toe settings last night but it didn’t make any noticable difference so went back to 0.
I spent quite a long time tuning the LSDs for over 360bhp (yeah Mr Lane, suck on that! ). What are your aids set at? That’s one of the problems with the wheel, you can’t go lock-to-lock as quick as twitching your thumb so with the aids down it’s much easier to spin.
