GT3 body conversion

I think its a really good price as well. I dont know who would do it for “substantially less”. Even if it is just for the fitted and painted bodywork with no wheels or wings and stuff.

The kit is 3k ish, the paint job is gonna be about 2.5k at least, as Plans paint shop are very good. 2k of vat. I dont reckon 3.5k to make the whole thing fit on the car and fabricate the brackets etc is a lot of money at all. There is a HUGE amount of hours that goes into that to make it all look like it grew there. None of the after market panels are a great fit, they all require hours and hours of fettling to get them to fit nicely.

Yeah i can imagine its not a five min job to get them right , if i was planning to do the conversion i would be getting them to do it at that price.
anyone called them yet?

Def at least a 20 minute job! Well I have been asked but I wouldn’t want to do it even for 15k! Mind you I am lazy so…

If you can do the work yourself, & its all doable with a bit a thought & time, then it would be much cheaper but everyone has to make a living

My car is having an Audi lump and the Exige GT3 bodywork fitted as we speak.

Very cool :sunglasses:

I’m liking it also but the mirrors and roof scoop don’t appear to match the Red Bull car.

Lotus Exige GT3 - Plans Performance [/quote]

Hi Graham

A bit of speculation in this thread - could you confirm some details - wheels, tyres costs etc. A proper drive in an S2 and drive out a GT3 replica cost would be helpful including any details on the parts that are removed etc

Thanks

After seeing this body for the last four years I think the ass end is boring and dated…
It may be new to you but its old and dated…personalize it or it’s just a GT3 wannabe.

Who wants a replica of a racer that barely finished or ever won a race ?

the front clam and splitter look different too

is the kit loosely based on the genuine car?

I think it would look better with the GT3/2010 spoiler for a road car, also I dont like the tea tray splitter and would want that much smaller.

I’d have one as well if I was building a car from bits

And me. Particularly like the front clam. To me it’s much nicer than the S3.

It’s nice but if I was doing it I would go for the 300rr conversion , I think it looks better with the step at the back of the front wings .

Love the look of that! Awesome!!

Mmmm I think I may have spaffed over that one
Love the 300rr !

Wonder if you can get the 300rr clams.

Really really wish lotus would have sold the 300rr as a final version of the Exige…
