There are a couple of reasons for not going down the Mog route.
Firstly, they’re a bit on the narrow/restrictive side… So fat barsteward passengers will have issues getting in and being comfortable.
Secondly some of us wish to retain the standard seat slider mechanism and Safety Devices harnesses. I have been informed that the Mog seat wont allow this and would require new belts to be purchased and a serious “after thought” as far ast the sliding mechanism is concerned.
tbh, if I was gonna buy something purely track focussed I would opt for the Lotus/Corbeau motorsport seat and neither the Mog/Reverie.
MOG has two, the Standard one and the XL version for fat barstewards, which is 40mm wider and 30mm higher.
I haven’t seen their sliders but neither the Reverie ones. And I definitely want to keep the slider mechanism.
Have you seen both and know for a fact that these ones are an afterthought?
Also, I don’t understand why would one harness fit one seat and not the other. Both of them have the slots in very similar places, what’s wrong then?
Also, purely track focused you’d want something very light, why the Curbeau/MS one then?

I would agree albeit they fit me perfectly. They are not the easiest things to get in and out of either and im not big at all (modesty ). Try pulling up at a petrol pump abit too close and see how much of a c-nut you can make yourself look.

No not true, Mog provide ally brackets for the drivers side for mounting directly to the slider and a fixed bracket for the passengers side. Now ask me if they fit well…I ended up making some new ones up for both sides (fixed drivers aswell)…Not sure how the lap harness fit to the sides of the seats with the safety devices belts, the ones I have bolt through a hole on the ally brackets that hold the seat. I dont think the lotus marque is top priorty to them tbh, hence the poor fitting brackets. There main market is more for the caterham/westies as you will regulary find the owner of company racing them.

I can assure you that the mog seat is track focused. If you fit in them, then you get a fantastic feel of what is going on under you as they really do hold you as part of the car, very much like a go-kart seat.
They are not going to be everyones cup of tea for a variety of reasons. I have done a wide spread of driving in them so far, on the track they are very good, 200 miles down the road in one go is about as much as the butt can take in one sitting though. Oh and they are exceptionally cold when you first get in them :brrr:.
I saw TarmacTerrorists MOG seats @ Donington and was much impressed… though they were a bit narrow for my pelvis !
It’s a shame the flag came down on us David as we were just about to go out. I think you will have found them just about right once the car started being loaded up in the corners.

Nope, you’re being too modest, you’re on the very small side
The thing I wonder is that I spoke with the german guy who designed it, told him I’m 6’2" and he said it was perfect for him, and he’s also 6’2" !
But if it fits you perfectly it can’t fit me. You saw me’at Doni remember? all 16 st of me (and a noisy car)

Their market there is the VX220’s. And that’s very similar to the Lotus, I don’t see what’s so different.

I was suprised who fit in those seats at donny and said they felt good. You should have come and had a go. My mate is 6.4 and 15st, he fits in on the passengers side which I have set low and back on fixed brackets. you may have to do the same.

Ner, I think they were intended more for the seven type car and they just happpen the fit the elise base with a bit of blood and patience.
There are non standard brackets which are bolted to the runner. The harness bracket I have is designed to attach to the Lotus double shear bracket and therefore wont fit the Mogs.
Shame really as having Mog seats would save me a load of cash… But then, saving me a whole load of cash is the purpose of the group buy!

Don’t understand, what’s wrong with that way?
Maybe I haven’t seen enough installations. Let me put it this way: how should it look like?
And how does the Lotus double shear bracket look?
