I got my 190 Ecu replaced with an Emerald on friday.
Big thanks to the Daves at DVA, who kept me entertained and fed, and who did a grand job.
The car is running much smoother, all in all a far better car to drive. It may be my imagination, but it seems to be pulling better in the low and mid range too.
Well chuffed.

Hope it isn’t just your imagination - otherwise you have wasted your money
True…
It doesn’t piss fuel out of the exhaust onto the garage floor when it’s at idle like it used to, so I guess it may be for real.
Seriously, not heard a bad word about the conversion from anyone who has done it.
Do you keep mpg figures? It would be interesting to compare them pre and post Emerald.
Glad all is well Andy, you did a first class job on the soldering in tough conditions with only a bacon sandwich for solace.

The extra torque you may be feeling is probably down the the revised cam timing and the fact that the engine is better managed in the mid range than on the original ECU.
It’s worth noting that even with the 190 revised sprocket the inlet cam timing was 6 degrees out.

As for fuel I filled up before going down, and had 17L left when I arrived after 2.5 hours of driving. (70mph when clear)
On the way back it took 4 hours (same distance but traffic was typical friday M1 nightmare) and I had 23L left. (also 70mph when clear)
Pretty good really.
