Got me some power at last!

Oh forgot to add if you are devlopeing 300hp the pressure on the ring lands of the pistons is pretty much exactly the same regardless of the amount of boost you are using to do produce it, therefore the limit on the pistons is the HP rather than specifically the boost pressure, unless you have a really inefficient engine using lots of boost to produce little HP…

Now that was as clear as mud wasn’t it?
I should have cleaned my ears out at school as i’m on the mud comment with you mate
Hey don’t call me greasy… :astonished:
More RPM more boost … The boys at Magnuson say the blower can be spooled up to 18000 rpm for short periods so no issues there… I don’t worry about it… But if you are on stock pistons tghen a max of 10 psi. is it…
I might just get the top end done, as in pistons and then go with a smaller pulley to get closer to 10 psi, maxing out the charger at 16.5 to 17k. As I already have the larger injectors/fuel pump, etc fueling wont be an issue so along with another remap it’ll be good to see what power it makes. Any one care to guess what increase I’d likely get?

Actually what am I saying…I need to find someone that’ll do it 1st…wayne had tears in his eyes when i pressed him on tuesday to push the car further.

Where is the problem there? WIth the 550, you also need a remap, no ???

Maybe a newbie question but is the boost pressure monitored by the ECU?
If not, how to measure it?

Correct you need a remap for any change from stock injector size and no the ecu does not monitor boost pressure, the Tmap sensor is for temp…To monitor boost you need a seperate guage…

Understood.
Where should I put the gauge for monitoring the pressure? Is there a recommended place?
I saw on www.plxdevices.com that they have the kiwi wifi and separate gauges.
Any feedback on these products?

Why the need to monitor boost?
Thanks guys.

Regarding the dyno shoots, it would be worth comparing the values according to the mods and the biggest difference I think is the bore size of the exhaust right which are:
Adrian: 2,5"
Steve: 2,75"
Nick: 3" but with stock fuel pump.
Everyone with RC 550?
I have been advised to go with Siemens Deka 630cc but no idea if it works well or not!

Regarding the exhaust, everybody comes to the same conclusion! I go tomorrow to with Lotus Club France in Magny-cours (90 cars present). I will try to get some feedback also there!

Cheers!

Francois, I’ve just found my dyno at sincs.

Power is at the wheels - you can see the power starts to dip at the last 400rpm where the fuel pump starts to struggle.
