Good Quality cheap lightweight jack

I thought it may be of interest, Machine Mart have started to sell a lightweight ally trolley Jack.

I have got two of them and have been using them for the last couple of weeks and I can’t really believe what superb value for money they are.

They are very light (10kg’s) and are built really really well. They are certainly as good as some of the 200+ ally jacks I have seen.

They will lift 1.25 tonnes, which is more than enough for us guys and all for 79.98 + vat.

Have a look at them here: http://www.machinemart.co.uk/product.asp?p=020111800&r=2047&g=107

Sean…

great minds sean…I bought one…one of the only ones that’ll go under the car too

I’ve got my eye on that one too, kicking myself 'cos I just missed one of their VAT free weekends. (applies on Clarke products), they usually have a few each year - makes it less than 80 quid…a steal.

yep…got the VAT free deal as well…real steal!

Costco have recently had a low, 2 ton ali jack for 80 inc (I seem to remember).

Do you need the invite card to get the discount?

Apparently the minimum height is 89mm (or something, you can almost see it on the box, low enough)

Weirdly I can’t find a URL for ARCAN or any other real reference to the jack on the Internet.

Ian

Not finding any references isn’t a big surprise to me. These jacks are produced in a couple of big Chinese factories. European companies send design files for the box and buy them per sea-container.

I have not seen the Arcan design before (most of them are like the one Machinemart design).

The Machinmart design is a good jack. I’ve used it for about half a year now and have to say it’s much better then all the crappy jacks I’ve used in the past (the cheapo steel items). Highly recommended, I might even start importing them aswell

Looks good too. Anyone know when they are going to have their next VAT free day?

Steve,

The coventry branch has a VAT free weekend tomorrow the 7th, and next week the 14th. So suspect they are on at the moment.

Looks good quality jack witha nice low hieght of 79mm

Been using my two for about a month now and they are great. I even left the car jacked up on them for two weeks and they didn’t drop at all!!!

They are sooooooo nice to use at track days as well, sooo light when you are lugging them in and out of the van.

machinemart vat free day is indeed today, no jacks left though, bloke told me they ran out in November and won’t get any more till march! not sure how true that is, but that’s what I was told.

If anybody does go, Clarke are doing a 24 volt impact wrench which would make a good wheel gun for 60 quid without vat.

Went into Machine Mart with Con today and we’ve both ordered one each (and paid at VAT free prices) as they didn’t have any in stock at that store.

The guy checked and apparently there are 15 in stock across the company but he wasn’t sure how many (if any) he could get. He was going to check with head office on Monday to find out when they were going to re-stock.

Picked mine up on Saturday (Con got his on Friday, thanks for the heads up).

They had spare ones on the shelf so guess they are back in stock properly!
