good on line oil shop?

Anyone know of a good place on line to order some 10w60 oil from?

I buy my Silkolene 5-40 from here

As the Pesk says! I used them for the first time ever this week. From on-line order to delivery took 28 hours.

I use Silkolene Pro S 10w-50 in my k series now as I was just never seeing the temperatures that would really need a 10w-60. Opie do sell Castrol Edge Sport 10w-60 if you insist on using it though.

Opie oils. Top service and speedy delivery

How do you get the discount? I was just about to place an order for oil and brake fluid

Wish we could get Silkolene here… I’m getting reamed buying expensive Motul from the retailers… it costs a mint

Costco sell 4 litre cans of 0/40W Mobil fully synthetic for 19.99 + VAT but you have to be a member…

do they! yeah im a member… is 0w-40 ok to use in a stock 190 exige?

Lotus recommend 10-60 for the VHPD. IMHO 0-40 is too “thin”.

Don’t know what the Yota engine is supposed to use though!

I use Mobil 1 15-50 in my S2

Dealers seem to use std Mobil 1 which I think is 5-40

59k miles on the VHPD using 0-40w with no problems (although hgf last week - first one!) - reckon if you are doing lots of trackdays a ‘thicker’ oil may be advisable…

Obviously, a good quality 0-40 is not “bad”, but a 10-60 would be better - that’s what a certain Mr Kershaw advised me when he refreshed my VHPD @ around 26K miles, after I’d been using Mobil 1. All was fine at that stage, except for the piston rings, which were well worn, & the bores requiring a de-glaze.

I presume that you haven’t opened up the old unit yet, as you’re too busy installing the new one? When you do get round to it, it will be interesting to learn how it’s faired up, given that it has given you excellent service over the years.

PS I believe Clive used to run it with 2 stroke oil, as it worked great in his motorbikes

Rob, will be stripping down the VHPD next week - am expecting a fair amount of wear in the bores although its never been an oil guzzler . As you say at 59k miles without the head off have been well chuffed with it

2 Stroke - blimey thought bikers would be using Castrol R
