Good news and bad news

Good news it passed it’s MOT first time

Bad news is i have taken the exhaust off to fit the de-cat pipe and it felt very light and rattled like it had broken glass in it.
I have cut it in half and this is all i found

I now know why it has been getting louder :astonished:

So any suggestions what to repack it with as i am a bit skint and could do with not having to fork out for a new exhaust.

pic of the new de-cat pipe waiting to go on.

Bad luck mate, whos exhaust is it? and whos cat/de cat and manifold are you running?

The manifold is Larini as is the sport cat and decat but the exhaust is a lotus stage 3 i think by Forge I’m not really sure.

Any forced induction Exige will cook the silencer innards like that, sooner or later. It’s another reason to fit as big a silencer as possible, & ideally a re-packable one (unfortunately mine ain’t, but it’s been doing its job for over 2 years now).

Just Googled exhaust repacking and it would seem that you rap the tube with s/s wire wool then pack around that with basalt packing, so it should be sorted by the weekend.

My 2Bular is getting pretty loud again after almost 3 years of superchargerness.

How do you find the manifold? did you get the car custom tuned to it? I thought it looked like the larini. Not sure that looks like the Forge tho? I had a forge and it did not look like that.

Lotus Stage 3 by Janspeed …

The exhaust used to have a large oval centre exit pipe that came through the diffuser but i changed it to how it looks now.

The manifold is a nice bit of kit that got fitted when the supercharger was fitted so was remapped then by sinc’s

Bring back the days of old when welding a scaffy pole to the manifolds of a range rover V8 was the norm … at least around wolves it was !!

This might help
