Just put that question to Benjam over on seloc.Simon,
Ben has already asked you on SELOC to keep him out of your bickering over engines. I think perhaps you should respect his wishes.
You have been asked by numerous people to keep them out of it in the past and haven’t. I think it’s time you do as requested and shut the [censored] up.

Funny that - can’t find anything were Ben says that and having spoken to him recently to ask his attitude about posting his scholar experiances, I got quite the opposite view expressed in person.
For an ex Rover , albeit suspension engineer, I find your attitude extraordinary, but perhaps as an engineer you should just take a back seat and LISTEN as the technical argument unfolds instead of rushing in with mindless, ill informed prejudice. You might even find the technical argument compelling?

That’s funny!
Just in case you missed it have a look at this thread, towards the end. (although you did post afterwards).

For those who CBA to go to SELOC Bens post was
Until I am ready to explain my experiences “from the horses mouth” I would appreciate leaving me out of this please!
As for the rest, I know a lot more about the K-series than you think I do, especially as an old Uni mate built most of the LSR K-series engines, someone you named in the past without his knowledge and who was very less than impressed when I spoke to him about it as he wants nothing to do with all the crap that goes on.
So I guess from your comments because I worked at Rover I should support everything you say and do? That is never going to happen, and for one main reason, I tried that in the past but you continually make yourself look like an arse. The way you act does no-one, and especially not the very talented guys who worked on the engine any favours. These guys really did know what they were doing, albeit with a very limited budget but they did get there. I will support the truth as I have done in the past and had some arguments with DVA on line about info which wasn’t right. Just like the fact I have had enough of the poor info you keep posting.
However as you point out I am only a suspension engineer, albeit one who did work at Rover as opposed to a sculptor who wanks off over a K-series wishing he did.
As far as the LSR record guys are concerned I am in regular touch with them and forwarded your previous post to that effect.
So your talking to Nick again are you?
The thing that worries me about threads like these are that they have a rather extremist feel. I always find any quotes that claim to know what other people have done (built, said, failed, befriended, introduced etc) quite disturbing, particularly when those have supposedly been involved strenuously deny it. I also find claims of power outputs, durability etc that aren’t substantiated and recognised by a sensible number of unbiased individuals pretty outrageous.
The forum, in my humble opinion, would be a far more informative place if one or more individuals stuck to improving and substantiating their own methods with proven track records rather than commenting on others.
I appreciate the above has been said and tried before but ultimately I think the time has come to advocate moderation to anything not conforming to it. In my view this would not deter the productive work done by various individuals but would put an end to the more destructive threads.

Chris if you’re suggesting moderation of these posts in the form of somebody reading/checking them I don’t really agree. That takes time and much of this just isn’t worth it.
There’s some interesting stuff hidden in these arguements and whilst they ‘keep it down their end of the bar’ I think it should be allowed to continue (painful as that may be).
After all, this is the Internet.

The only moderation needed here is “self moderation”, & surely that can’t be too difficult for grown men to achieve!
A healthy discussion of opinions, even though unsubstatiated, doesn’t require moderating. Two or more camps seizing every opportunity to sling mud at each other, walking over a previously reasonable thread is quite annoying for everyone not involved.
My patience is running thin with those involved.

Good!
give him a call next week and check it out.

Appologies to anyone who thinks I’ve overstepped the mark on this thread, this is my last comment on this or anything else to do with Erland.
I’ve had a nice pleasant chat with an old mate this morning.
