over the weekend my lights have turned themselves on in the middle of the night i had to disconnect the battery at 3 o’clock in the morning today i am well fed up!!! going to ring the dealer tomorrow (warranty claim)… has anyone else had this problem?
yeah i had this problem, something like a faulty relay/switch. They came on by themselves and killed the battery, had to call the AA as i didnt have long enough jump leads…
i am still having problems with my headlights switching themselves on !!! its been back to the dealers 4 times now and they cant find the fault due to the lights NOT coming on when they have custody of my car ! can you tell me if it was a dealer that repaired your car, and if so do you think they will speak to lotus ribble valley in lancashire(where my car is at the moment)? thanks any help will be appreciated
you have a pm! cheers
thanks i appreciate that!
Hi there, Ive spoken with the dealers and it was a faulty switch controller. (part no. D117M0008F)
HTH, cheers Ed
thanks ed! i have just spoke to the lotus agent and told them that part number…i will post the outcome later.
not good news the car has been OK for the last 6 nights until today, the sodding wipers have stopped! my dash lights have gone out! ime sick to the back teeth with it… anyway its back at lotus again, i have spoke to phoenix motor sport that are based near me and they have advised me that the most common problem to cause this is a large block connector that is fitted under the front clam (part of the wire loom)(a bad connection???), i have relayed this kind and helpful information to the lotus garage… i will keep you all informed.
well i have had the car back for 5 days now and everything seems fine! they have told me that a new ecu has been fitted…fingers now crossed
