I tried the search!
I want to get the Geo checked on my 06 S.
It will be at Pro Tyre who are a specialist. What settings should I ask for, ie factory settings? Or should I be asking for something esle?
I’d guess they have the factory settings on record.
I use it on road and track.
Did find it a bit understeery at Rockingham.
First thing to do is remove all the front shims to get as much negative camber as possible, i’m not sure what settings to use as Sinclaire did mine and used their race car set up which is quite agressive on tyres but what the hell
Have a look at the tech wiki on SELOC as they have a variety of settings. See the tech wiki here
I’d say beware removing all the shims at the front unless it is primarily a track car. Removing them all can add up to 1.5 degrees negative camber and that will result in tramlining on the road. Also just removing them all is not necessarily going to give the same camber on both sides of the car. I saw a difference of .3 degrees side to side. Also beware that removing the shims yourself will alter the toe so that will also need to be set.
For a primarily road car I’d go for something similar to the factory settings with perhaps a little more front camber. For track use I’d go nearer to the settings given for the 340R “track”.
BTW factory settings are in your handbook.
Sinclaires ‘waspy’ setup is good - just a more track focused set up.
Great info from you all yet again
Will have a good think and then go for a check / change of settings.
Off to a Donny evening session in a couple of weeks…
Mark,
After checking the various forums I removed 1 front camber shim on each side, leaving the 0.5mm shim which holds the abs connector.
This really reduced the car’s tendency to understeer, especially in the wet. Felt like a different car.
I was warned that this may increase tyre wear. 3K miles later I can say that the front tyres are wearing evenly.
Take care,
Frank
