Have any of you that run a lot of track days changed the stock geometry settings? I have a set of Ohlins on now, at 130mm ride height (stock) and with all the front shims out all I can get is -0.5Deg. pyro and tyre wear show me that I do not have enough camber. Is it safe to lower the car a little? I think I saw somewhere that the cup cars are set to 118mm. Rear camber is stock and seems just right. Thanks for any info you may have.
Cheers, Adam.
I had my car set up by Plans would recomend you give em a call
The first mod anyone should do on delivery of a new Elise or Exige is get the geo done. I had mine done at Sinclaires after 6000 miles and the difference was like night and day. I had been mildly dissappointed with the handling prior, but after it was superb, and I realised just how good the car should be.
I cursed not having it done far sooner.
When I was having my Ohlins fitted I spoke to the Motorsport guys about the ride height. Like you I was wondering if I should be going with the suggested 130mm or dropping it to 120mm like the Cup and 240R.
I was told that 130 was seen as a safe compromise for those that would still be running their cars regularly on the road, on poor quality tarmac, particularly outside the UK, and that 120 would be better for a car that was tracked regularly.
So mine has been set to 120mm. As described in another thread the problem I have now is I’ve worn holes in the wheel arch liners. Both sides behind the lights from rubbing when the car is on lock, and above the right wheel, presumable due to the Craner Curves
Hoping to get the liners our this week to see if they’ll patch and if there any scope for increasing the clearance with a heat gun.
Hey guys I have my car set to Lotus track pac specs. With a ride height of 115 f/r. I’m running single adj. Nitrons with 525lb.springs front/ 650lb. springs rear. I use this set up for the canyons. Corners as if on rails. No need for any aftermarket swaybars…
I am @ 120/125 F/R
can anyone post the relevant settings, and advise where around Edinburgh i could get this done? Jamie?
cheers
Denis

Do you know what spring rates you are running Jamie?
AT 120mm do you know how much camber you have on the front? BTW my Ohlins are from Lotus Motorsport so the spring rates are 325f/425r. Handles well but not enough grip as I am not making the best contact patch with the road. Thanks for all your help.
My set-up is Plans developed and have been sworn to secrecy
I never know how to read those geo sheets so heres the full content of the camber line.

Well it’s comforting to know you all share information
I’ll try and Clyde to give me clue. How can a 10mm drop be anyway in the land of monster trucks and SUVs
