First time I’ve really used the car properly yesterday at Llandow (great fun). QMech were doing support for the day and did a trackside geo check. basically the car has never been checked before (in 4+ years) so I was interested to see if anything was noticably out.
Came back with
LF Toe -2.0, camber -0.1deg, castor 3.8
RF Toe +1.0, camber -0.1deg, castor 3.8
LR Toe +1.5, camber -1.0deg
RR Toe +2.0, camber -1.7deg
Suggested 0.5 more camber on LR
Now, none of this really means anything to me. The car feels fine. Do I need to get the camber sorted, and if so is it worth changing anything else? Planning a few more TD’s this summer and while my ability is about 2.5/10 every little helps!
Hey Tony how are you mate?
If it helps I’m running…(as last checked by JSRacing):
LF Toe .25mm out, camber -0.5deg, castor 1.9
RF Toe .25mm out, camber -0.6deg, castor 1.9
LR Toe +2.5mm, camber -1.7deg
RR Toe +2.5mm, camber -1.9deg
I should imagine you could tighten that up to within a knats cock…worth doing next time it’s in somewhere I guess. Mine feels great on track so can’t complain, road can be a little twitchy to and from but mainly I track it. John (JSR)would probably give you a few pointers 07720398699.
Like you I really don’t know that much about it so took it there lol. Glad I helped
Really pleased to have finally got the car on track this year. So many issues with work, time, the car being too noisy etc
All in hand now though. David at Larini is going to help with a solution to noise levels. Car is “sorted” enough for some track time and even got TD insurance cover!!
Already booked another day for Sept and planning to get a couple more in between now and then if I can get the exhaust quietened down.
Next time it goes in for some work I’ll get the geo tweaked. As I said, it’s very unlikely to improve my performance but it might make the car a little “safer” in ham-fisted hands
So what have you done to the exhaust, it looked and sounded bloody awesome mate…the exige logo is quite nice too
The exhaust is an “off the shelf” Larini Sport SE. Put the cat back on some time ago as the de-cat was just too noisy and MOT issues etc. Looks great, sounds good but it’s just way to noisy.
Larini are going to db it for me and if it is too loud, ie. >100db then they are going to look for a solution. As mines not fully welded the arms and tips can be taken on and off quite easily so the simplest answer might be to have another set of these made up with some sort of additional silencing.
Wait and see but really need to get it sorted for a couple of airfield days in July and Aug ready for Llandow again in Sept.
I bought a 2bular de-cat pipe this year which is still sat where I left it in January. I’m doing Spa and the Ring at the end of the month so thought I’d stick it on…but then again as I’m doing the round trip in my Exige I’m not so sure
