After reading a fair few things about the exige gearbox i have realised its crap. Mine is crunching a bit when i go into 3rd when cold, is there any gearbox oil that will make it last a bit longer. Also i see that hanger 111 do the juba replacment 3rd and 4th that i hear you guys take about, its about �1100 but is that for them to fit it or do they just surply a new box and you give them your old one. Any help would be great

Redline MT90 gearbox oil will help a lot, I know it sounds strange but just try not to use 3rd till the box warms up a bit :wink:

I’d suggest ringing Hanger 111 to ask what the price includes as the gears are ~�700 on their own

Had another look on hanger 111 and it was �1100 just for the gears so dread to think how much it would be to get them fitted. Is there a finel drive gear that can give the exige a bit more top end speed?

There’s a Celica spec gearbox, that has a longer 6th gear. You won’t get to max revs in 6th without a big jump in power though. Saying that, you won’t with a standard gearbox either!

As far as I can tell, the gearboxes are

C60 Celica 6 speed - same as Lotus, but 6th at 8k is 181 mph
C64 Lotus 6 speed box - 6th at 8k is 161mph
C63 MR2 has longer ratios throughout, no gaurantee that this fits though - 6th at 8k is 208 mph

Power jump to hit the limiter on the Lotus box, not that much - Ade/Frank?? - C64 more, C63 much more!! Any mods to give you enough power to achieve the second two, are going to shorten the life of the rest of the gearbox however.

193 mph with Toyota E153. You really don’t wanna go that fast in a stock aero Exige even if you could… I know once was enough for me.
