Hi Guys - Mr Pesky recommended the following gas struts
SKF - Lift-O-Mat Struts
They are just over 17 each + VAT take 3 weeks to deliver and delivery is 17.
Does anyone want any? If so I’ll order a few and split up the delivery cost (pikeytastic)
Any takers???

Cheers - Looks like it’s six of one and half a dozen of the other with sourcing and pricing??
I will have to bit the bullet and get a pair.
Alternator has just died on the Elan so it wont be this month!!!

IIRC p&p on my struts was 10. Also, they are the correct length, & don’t need any gas releasing to operate correctly (see link to the alternative above).

…broom stick…
Bamboo pole I say. They use it for scaffolding to build skyscrapers with in Hong Kong you know. I have spares if anybody wants one.

aluminium dowel from B&Q…matches the boot-floor and fits nicely across the boot under airbox… (another Uldis tip)

Pah! - I had a lovely bit O’ ally tube which I polished up and laid neatly in the back for this purpose, bling bling McDonalds Car part burn out stylie…
On transporting 2x5l tubs of devon cream exterior masonry paint in the ‘boot’ then subsequently noticing (at the end of the journey) that one had split and spilled its guts all over - my all pole is now Devon Cream coloured wi bits o grass stuck to it after I threw it in the garden in a mad ‘igg’

If you’d have got the Devon Cream on the outside, your whole car would have looked like a fruit cocktail!!!
