It’s to cold to go and have a look in the garage so i’d thought I’d see if any of you guy’s could guild me on removing the fuel tank. Is it really as bad as what I’ve read so far?
Not a bad job at all, i changed the fuel pump last year. To start off with make sure the tank level is as low as possable.
Disconnect the battery.
Remove speaker panel and tank access panel.
Disconnect pump wiring and fuel pipes (this job is made easier if you lower the tank down an inch or so).
Remove o/s rear wheel arch liner then remove fuel filler hose and breather hose.
Remove undertray.
Disconnect gear cables and handbrake cables.
Disconnect throttle cable.
Remove shear panel.
Remove the four tank securing bolts.
I was with you mate right up until the point where you said make sure the fuel level is low …

Yes - 5 days blast round up the west coast to the north of Scotland.
Stunning scenary and mega, and I mean mega roads.
I’ll post some pictures later
p.s. sorry for the thread drift
oh and I saw just one other lotus on the entire trip - and yes another S1 exige. a ceratin Mr R Hesketh heading south on the M6 !
