Was mulling over some great vid and wondered why I was really suffering with mid corner understeer at the Exiges track day… my front rims are 6.5 wide and I have R888 195/50/16.
Just wondering if the wider 205/50/16 would be help out? I have forgotten, but is this the ‘standard’ Exige front size?
My S2 Elise understeered when I first got it. Blink Motorsport (RIP) added a stiffer ARB and did a track geo on it and I havent suffered with understeer since. I run 48s and havent tried the 888s yet, maybe they are contributing slightly ?
Sounds like you have the same setup as me. I had a geo done by another company before Blink and it was really bad, understeer nightmare. I cant recall my tyre sizes but I am running OZ wheels, does that help ?
Other than that it might be tyre pressure/temp or driving style (no offence).
Also, I think Richard and Scuffers came up with the Honda idea or something. I know that once he had his car converted that Jonny at BaT and Richard spend a day or so just tuning the handling. Its the same setup he put on my car.
I have the geo setup figures at home if you want to use them.
You should not need 205’s you should be able to dial out the understeer with setup changes, like weirdly soften the rear damping to allow more rear movement thus loading the front a bit more, do you trail brake? does it happen when you get on the loud pedal? There can be a lot that can make it understeer…
He was very helpful, honest and reasonably priced. I miss Blink because they offered awesome service and were 30 mins from my house. Top bloke, top company, ah well the good old days.
Pete try Steve Guglielmi at Daventry 01327 878 425 he seems to be able to give you almost anything you want…
I still suffer from slight understeer but it can be reduced with modified driving style…but dont ask me how!!
