Front number plate

Well I managed to scrape the front again tonight and my front plate is looking very tatty, so I could do with a new one.
I just dont know if I should go for a 3/4 one, I do really like them as full size looks a little clunky but mine has done a good job of stopping me killing the splitter and secondly I dont really want hassle off the BIB.
So what are others running? any pics of cars with 3/4 plates to help sway me and have you had any trouble with the BIB?
Advantages to the 3/4 plates will be extra cooling and of course a weight saving

Full size lettering but on a smaller plate. Completely legal but is a direct match for the width of the plinth on the splitter. Very good compromise as the 3/4 plate doesn’t cover the whole plinth.

Who can do that? I think fancy plates only do full size or 3/4.

Gt Grafix (Demon Plates) have done a couple for me. 470mmx96mm.
Spoke to them on the phone then confirmed the order by email as the site didn’t offer that exact option.

I bought a normal size plate and just cut it down with a hacksaw and file to tidy the edges up.

Any pics guys?

Always had 3/4 front plates mate!

No probs with bib…

It looks ‘scaled’ to the car so not many peeps notice! And to prove this I had my front end ‘Armourfended’ last week (No more blue masking tape!!!) and the chap who ran the business and fitted the stuff is a copper! He made no comment at all!

3/4 front plate from fancy plates. No issues in 3 (4?) years but always swap back for MOT.

3/4 from fancy plates here too, i work for the BIB and never had a problem.

I’ve got a 3/4 number plate from fancy plates too, look so much better than full size on the exige.

Had 3/4 plate on my vx220 for 5 years and the exige a year before eventually getting pulled - ended up with 60 fine and told to change the plate. Didn’t bother changing it though.

I have also had a few MOT stations fail it on the plate though. I believe they are more stict on this now, but its easy enough to swap this once a yearf or the test.

I got done in my last exige in '06 running a 3/4 size front plate…barstewards!

Not running any front plate at all on my new exige, although I do keep the plate stored behind the drivers seat so if I do get a tug i can say “honestly officer it fell off earlier today…”

No front plate looks even better than a 3/4 size jobbie!

Spoke to fancy plates and am going to go with EVO’s idea of full size lettering on a reduced size plate.
