Nice rusty inner cable inside very rusty outer."… Send to Speedy Cables…replace using mucho grease in the caple housing …fish out inner cable from the depths behind the dash…magnetic pickup good for this. Repaint catch re assemble and hope it all lines up.
Same principal for engine cover release BUT cant work out how to remove the outer end from the clam.
Moral of this story is to keep rain/ moisture out of the cables with loads of grease around the ends.
