Front Grill Liner on S2

Hi all, can anybody tell me how this effect was achieved ? Is it just a paint job or is there a plastic insert there somewhere ?

Thanks EX77

I parked next to that car at Silverstone a couple of weeks ago. I couldn’t see any step so I assume its a clever bit of masking and paint.

I wonder what colour would go with graphite grey…

Aye, that’s Mr Splitpin’s car

Hi Henry,
Glad you like the colour scheme, its the complete opposite to the [color:“orange”]Peskymobile [/color] !!! I got the idea from a 1965 BRM P261 formula 1 racing car.

When I purchased the car new from Bell & Colvill I asked Scott to create an orange mouthpiece and rear exige badge. The work was carried out by a spray shop they use, dont know who but Scott would probably tell you. Apparently they mixed the orange colour to match a Jaffa cake box they had purchased for their teabreak. There is not an insert, it is only painted on. They charged 350 including VAT. Protective film has also been fitted.
I have not seen another one like it yet, will have to take a patent out quick!!!

Regards,

David.

Thanks David, looks great. I will give Scot a ring. I saw the idea on an special version MG (Rover 200) that I think was also a “BRM” version.

Mine will be Lotus Yellow to go with the graphics on the car which is Magnetic Blue.

Many Thanks

Henry
